#Find processes with search and favourites

Each list in Chester has its own search field, and favourites keep the processes you work on one click away from your dashboard.

#Search a list

❌ There is no search across all of Chester. You search inside the list you are looking at, and each search field matches what that list shows:

Where Search field What it matches
Projects Search projects … The project name
A project page Search area, group or process … Area, group and process names
Systems Search systems … The systems in the list
Agents Search agents … The agents in the list
Monitoring & logs Search ID, initiator … and Search context … A run's id or who started it, and the data a run carries
Users Search users The people in the list

On a project page, a match on an area or a group keeps everything inside it visible, so you can type the name of an area to see just that part of the tree.

#Mark a process as a favourite

 S["☆ on a process page
(Designer)"] -- "Add to favourites" --> F["Favourites card
on the Designer dashboard"]
 F -- "drag" --> O["Your own order"]
 F -- "Remove from favourites" --> X["Gone from the card"]
 E["☆ on a process in a catalog
(Execution)"] --> T["Today
(Execution)"]

Open a process in the Designer and click the star in its header — Add to favourites. Click it again to Remove from favourites.

Your favourites appear on the Designer dashboard, in the Favourites card:

 • Click a favourite to open it.
 • Drag a favourite up or down to put the card in your own order.
 • Remove from favourites on a row takes it off the card.

Favourites are yours alone. Nobody else sees them, and they do not change the process.

#Favourites in the Execution app are separate

The Execution app keeps its own favourites. A process you star in a catalog there is listed on Today, and a catalog you star is listed in the sidebar under Process catalogs. Neither appears on the Designer dashboard, and a Designer favourite does not appear in the Execution app. See Running processes.
