#Keep track of versions and deployments
The Versions tab lists every deployment of a process, per environment, while each save is kept in a history that the process page does not show yet.
#Two kinds of version

- A saved version is created every time you save the diagram. It records what the process looked like at that moment.
- A deployment is a frozen copy that can run. It is created only when you click Deploy. See Deploying a process.
Saving never deploys, and deploying never changes what you are editing.
#Read the Versions tab
The Versions tab — Versions & deployments — groups the deployments by environment: Production first, then Development. Each group shows:
- how many deployments it holds, and whether that environment currently has one — or Not deployed;
- one row per deployment, with who deployed it, how long ago, and how often it has run;
- Withdraw, which takes the current deployment of that environment out of service.
The Deploy button at the top of the tab opens the same dialog as the one in the header.
Old deployments stay listed after you deploy again. An instance keeps running on the deployment it started with, and Monitoring shows it together with the configuration it ran with.
❌ The rows cannot be opened. There is no way from the process page to look at the diagram of an older deployment.
#The version history
Every save of the diagram is also stored as a version in the background.
❌ The process page has no screen for that history yet. You cannot list the saved versions, compare them, or restore one, and Save does not ask for a message. The history is kept, but the process page does not show it.
